Christ is Risen from the dead, trampling death by death and to those in the tombs, giving life!
New life is what we have been waiting for since we started the Great Fast. Indeed new life is what we have been waiting for since our conception.
New life is in the warm weather of spring.
New life in the blessed pussy willows that were given out on Palm Sunday.
New life for us who are wounded by sin.
New life for us, by grace and good works.
New life for us as we eat the blessed food of our Easter Baskets.
New life. We get off our penitent knees and stand in the glory of the Resurrection.
Let us stand for the next 40 days, no kneeling on Sundays of the Easter season. (Every Sunday is a mini Easter, in some of our Ukrainian Catholic Parishes we don't kneel on any Sunday, all year round.)
At the feast of the Ascention we find ourselves alone. Jesus who spent Easter season with us has now ascended into heaven. During this time we find ourselves not in dispair, but in anticipation of the Holy Spirit coming down to us and dwelling within us at the feast of Pentecost.
Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!
